Mr. Claytens completed three years of Geology at UBC before transferring into Economics and receiving a B.A. Econ. degree specializing in Resource Economics.

Mr. Claytens worked as a Registered Representative at Yorkton Securites before being hired as a Mining Analyst by a private investment firm. His career progressed into Senior Management positions of ten Public companies in the past twenty five years.

Most recently Mr. Claytens was Senior VP of Vanstar Mining Resources which found the Nelligan gold deposit which now contains 8.3 million ounces of gold. Vanstar Mining was subsequently acquired by Iamgold in an all share transaction in 2024.
